Untitled, 2020  was a one print exhibition, intended to poke fun at printmaking, at art making, and to be a critique of both the conventions of the gallery and of viewer expectations. The heft of the work was in the label. The print was titled, Untitled, and the medium listed was an unhinged internal monologue. Here, I considered technical jargon and the ways in which printmaking technique and process often takes precedence over concept. I made a rich, deeply etched aquatint etching that is self referential. In listing "medium", I was considering what sort of weight is brought to the studio every day and how that is either manifested, disguised, or denied. The price was listed as $600.00, to keep it affordable, accessible, and again, poke fun of art; suffering/emotional existence as commodity for viewer, collector, gallery.
